Choose an earlier photo and a later photo. Adjust zoom and horizontal or vertical position until the framing is similar. You can replace either photo, swap their order or reset the framing without starting again.
Save a side-by-side image
Add a short label or date if useful. Dates are entered manually; the tool does not import file metadata. Labels are optional; turn them off for a photo-only image. Select Prepare PNG, then Download PNG. If your phone opens the image instead of downloading it, use Open PNG and the browser’s save-image control. The export uses the same crop as the preview, in two portrait frames. It does not change your original files.
Formats and limits
Use JPEG, PNG, WebP or HEIC, up to 15 MB and 32 megapixels per photo. HEIC photos can take longer to open. Only the primary still photo is used; motion and additional images are not included. Some HEIC varieties cannot be opened. If that happens, export a JPEG copy from your photo library and choose it instead. Phone JPEG orientation is read by the browser. If an image appears sideways, save an upright JPEG copy and choose it again.
Working images are reduced to a maximum edge of 2,000 pixels. The PNG is 1,600 pixels wide. Very large files can still exceed the memory available on a phone; use smaller copies if opening or exporting fails.
What stays in this tab
This tool does not upload photos or send filenames, labels or dates to website analytics. It does not save your working photos between visits. Clear all removes the working images and the prepared download from this page. It does not delete your originals or any PNG you have already saved. Website page analytics remain active.
Compare framing, not a health result
Use similar lighting, pose, clothing and camera distance. Cropping cannot correct those differences. The tool does not measure body composition or assess health.
For the next session, follow the progress-photo guide. The photo comparison guide explains what to check before drawing conclusions. To keep an ongoing photo history, see BodyLog’s progress-photo workflow.
JavaScript is needed for the comparison controls. Without it, use a local photo editor to place two equally sized crops side by side.
