BodyLog supports two-way Apple Health sync for four measurement types: weight, height, body fat and waist. It lets these records take part in your Apple Health workflow alongside the log you keep in BodyLog.

Supported measurements

MeasurementSupported direction
WeightApple Health to BodyLog and BodyLog to Apple Health
HeightApple Health to BodyLog and BodyLog to Apple Health
Body fatApple Health to BodyLog and BodyLog to Apple Health
WaistApple Health to BodyLog and BodyLog to Apple Health

These are the supported types named in BodyLog’s release history. Do not assume that another body area in your log is also a Health data type.

You control Health permissions

Apple Health lets you review an app’s read and write access by data category. Open Health, tap your profile picture or initials, and look under Privacy for Apps. Select BodyLog to review the choices that are available. Apple explains the controls in its Health data guide.

Read access and write access serve different directions. When investigating a missing record, check the category and direction involved rather than changing every permission at once.

Check a record before adding another copy

Choose one dated entry and compare its type, unit and date in the two apps. If another app also contributes the same type, Apple Health’s Data Sources & Access view can help identify the source. Follow the Apple Health troubleshooting steps for a structured check.

Before you choose BodyLog

BodyLog is available for iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 18.6 or later. It is free to download with in-app purchases; review the purchase options and the offer displayed in the app.
